Why Do I Order From the Chinese Carryout?

They got me again.  Another crappy sub that hit the trash.  I just can't understand why that can't get my order right.  You would think I would learn.  But, I keep hoping and trying.  I think it is  NOT rocket science.

Two months ago during a staff meeting I ordered a steak and cheese (provolone) sub with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and hot peppers on the side.  I learned previously that I did not like warm lettuce, and warm tomatoes.  Having them on the side I thought was safe.  But to my surprise, they can't put the items on the side.  My sandwich arrived with American cheese and nothing else.  It was dry with my hated American cheese.  In angry, I called them.  They said I had ordered my sandwich with American cheese and....they DON'T put the lettuce and tomatoes on the side.  I could not understand it.  How hard could it be to put lettuce and tomatoes in a container.  I vowed never to order from them again.

Yesterday I went against my own promise.  I thought carefully and ordered what I thought was a safe alternative.  I ordered French fries, a spring roll and a COLD ham and cheese (provolone)  sub with  lettuce and tomatoes.  My order arrived among many others.  The French fries and spring rolls were wonderful.  However the ham and cheese sub came wrapped in foil HOT with melted American cheese and warm withered lettuce and warm tomatoes.  I couldn't believe it.  They got me again.  If I did not know better I would think it was personal.  I took the nasty sub and threw it in the trash.

I know English is their second language but how can they get COLD and HOT mixed up.  Who wants warm lettuce and warm tomatoes on their sub?  I guess my lesson is to order Chinese food from a Chinese carryout.  The positive note is that the organization has always paid for my crappy food.  Hence no money lost from my purse.   I sure wish I had spent my money across the street for the stuffed shrimp with crab meat or use my chef skills http://newpamperedchef.com/pws/arlenejohnson to have prepared and brought my own lunch.  As to whether I will order again, I can't let them beat me can I.
