I Hate Carrying Out Food
I love fast food but hate carrying out food. What do I mean? Well let me tell you my story. I stopped at Five Guys to order a burger and fries. I must say, for fast food, Five Guys gives you the most food for your bucks......lots of topping and piles of fries. So you know whenever I am near a Five Guys, I have to order a burger and fries. They have never this disappointed me until that one day when I was in a hurry. I had to go from one job site to another. No time to sit and eat. Just grab and go.
I found a Five Guys close to metro station. I went to the counter and order my favorite - a regular bacon cheese burger with lots of onions, tomatoes, lettuce, mushrooms, jalapeno peppers and fries. I asked for the topping on the side since I have to travel. As I waited for my burger, munched on the free peanuts and loaded my pocketbook with more for later. When my order was ready, I grabbed it and jumped on the metro train. I nibbled on the fries as I travelled on the train.
When I arrived at my destination, I was more than ready for my meal. I removed my order from the bag. I was impressed on how nicely they packaged all my toppings. I got more than when I ordered them on my burger. I filed that for future reference. I turned on the toaster oven and got the foil to warm up my meal. I popped the balance of my fries on the foil and removed the bun from my hamburger. I mouth was watering with anticipation.
The burger looked wonderful but something was wrong. I checked the topping again. They were all there - lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and jalapeno peppers. My burger had my favorite cheese but no BACON! I was furious. I love bacon more than any other topping and paid for a BACON cheese burger. I was miles from Five Guys. I had no intentions of returning. I questioned myself about calling and complaining. But in the end, I realized they would just tell me to come back and they would make good on the order. That was not going to happen. If I had that time, I would of ate on the premises. And, I would of noticed immediately that the bacon was missing. I choose to just warm up my burger and fries and use the moment as a learning experience. ALWAYS check your food prior to carrying it out. Mistakes are made. And, when you leave, it is over. Still, I hate carrying out food. Funny, I learned this lesson before from drive-in windows. They seems to always get me. I just never seem to learn!
