Local Women Supporting Women at Local Women Own Business #TheEleanor #WashingtonDC #Goodfood #NoMa

When  a woman on Nextdoor decided to form a Women Business Group to empower and develop women businesses, what could be better than meeting at a community woman owned business called The Eleanor.  I knew the business but had never been inside.  I was very interested to meet the ladies and dine at this restaurant.

While we were waiting, I had an opportunity to check out the joint.  There were not many people dining at the time so I felt comfortable walking around taking pictures.

Once more ladies arrived, we did our introduction and discussed the agenda.  Our leader was very organized and the ladies were great.  After settling in, we scanned the menu to order.

The menu was interesting, but basic.  We decided to play it safe and order items we were certain would not disappoint.

Well.....we were wrong.  The simple things we ordered were flavorless, small, and disappointing.  I really expected better.  The beer, however, was good.  

Regardless, we had a fantastic meeting.  We shared a lot of good information and vowed to meet monthly at other women own businesses.  We all agreed that we would give The Eleanor another shot in the future due to its location and the ample space to hold our anticipated many women members.
