A Crispy Sandwich Served by the Water #DCPier #ShakeShack #FreshandGolden

Nothing is better than eating by the water especially when you and your staff have just left an exhausting meeting.  To decompress from a hard morning, my staff and walked along the waterfront in DC.  It was too cold to eat outside and enjoy the bounty of fresh seafood on an outside table.  We chose a restaurant that gave us a view of the water and an new restaurant experience for both of us.  And, of course, affordable on our nonprofit budget.  After walking and viewing the lovely scenery, we found a restaurant that was not crowded and affordable.

Frankly, the restaurant was not our first choice.  But it was not crowded and the menu was interesting and the staff welcoming.

Instead of burger, we chose chicken sandwiches with fries.  I had a chicken club and my staff had a chicken sandwich with coleslaw.  Since both sandwiches were cooked fresh, we were given a beeper to announce when our order was ready.

Our food arrived hot and looking delicious.  I was impressed of how nice the food was delivered on the tray.

I am happy to say that the sandwich and fries were as tasty as they looked.  I really appreciated this simple pleasure by the water.  The window views were awesome.  I can't wait to return when it's warm so I can sit outside and smell the breeze.

I could not help taking a shot of a lasting memory.   

It was a simple lunch.  Yet, it was purely delicious.  Surprisingly, it was a day to remember!
