     I fell in love with fired green tomatoes in Savannah Georgia.  I did not think I would like them because I only like red tomatoes on sandwiches.  As for green tomatoes, I thought it should cross my lips.  But while in Savannah, Georgia, why not try want is local?  I did and fell in love instantly.   Since that time, I have been chasing the succulent flavor ever since.

     I was surprised to see a item made with fried green tomatoes on the menu when a friend invited me to lunch at Black Finn Ameripub.

 I was hesitate at first to order it.  I have been so disappointed with other meals offering fried green tomatoes.  All have been substandard in comparison to my first experience.  But, I was interested since it had thick sliced bacon, pimento cheese and more transported sourdough bread!.   Very few meals are terrible with bacon and sourdough bread.  As my mouth watered in anticipation, I jumped in and order the meal.

     I was not disappointed with the presentation.  I looked great.

     But would it taste as go as it looks?  It did. It took me back to Savannah, Georgia all those years ago.  I loved every bite of the sandwich from the crusty fried green tomatoes, tangy pimento cheese, crispy thick cut bacon, lush greens and of course the buttery sourdough bread.   It was so good I di0d not eat the fries.  I was sorry I did not order another for the road.  I just will have to go back to see if it was real or just a flavor dream.
