It's Tex-Mex
If you know me, you know I love Mexican food. I could live in Mexico and eat the food every day and be quite happy. Fortunately, I travel to Mexico often using http://www.surge365.com/travelmorenow. As a result, I was more than delighted when a Mexican restaurant opened up across from my job. The menu was diverse and exciting. I couldn't wait to try it. My co-workers and I walked across the street and introduced ourselves and our company. We told the owner that the job orders lunch for the staff all the time and that we would love to order from them in the future. The owner was thrilled and gave us a discount card.
With a month of our introduction, a couple of the staff and I went to El PARAISO for lunch and loved it. We enjoyed the warm environment, customer service and the free chips and Pico de Gallo. In fact, the Pico de Gallo was one of the best I ever had. Several of us ordered fajitas - San Antonio - mixed shrimp, beef and chicken. It took a while to arrive but it was worth the wait. The platter was huge with plenty of steak, very large shrimp, and chucks of chicken mixed with fresh tomatoes, onions, and green pepper and served sizzling hot with rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, Pico de Gallo and flour tortillas. Definitely enough for two people or a second portion. It was delicious. The chef definitely put his/her foot in it. Needless to say, we were hooked and sang the restaurant's praise to everybody in the office.
Hence, when our office had its next management and decided to order lunch for the staff, we recommended EL PARAISO Tex-Mex restaurant. Even though they did not deliver, we decided to order, use our discount and send a staff to pick up. We order over 25 items - Quesadillas, Enchiladas, Chimichangas, Burritos, and my favorite fajitas with anticipation. To say the wait was long, is an understatement. We waited and waited. Finally, the order was picked up. We opened our dishes and was shocked. The orders were jacked up. Some were missing cheese, sour cream, Pico de Gallo, tortillas, or just wrong. We contacted the restaurant and they attempted to make the correction. However, it also wrong. We lived with it enjoying what we received.
Believing that the first time was a exception, we ordered again for a management meeting. Our company believes in sponsoring small and new businesses. After all, many of the staff have gone to the restaurant on other occasions and really enjoyed the food. Surprise, surprise, the order again arrived jacked up. Now we were angry. They just seem not to get it right. We wanted to forget them but the food was so delicious.
Sorry to say we didn't stop ordering. It's still one of the staff favor places. We just no longer order the food for the management meetings. We now know that large orders are not their specialty. If we want to really enjoy our Tex-Mex food, we need to walk our butts across the street, sit down and order. Only then, will we get the quality food that we ordered and love so much. It is worth every step!
