A Burger Before a Flight
I Surge365 business (http://www.surge365.com/travelmorenow) requires that I travel a lot. This trip was from Washington, DC National Airport to Orlando, Florida. I was travelling to share my business and for some January warm weather relaxation. Since I had an afternoon flight, I decided to arrive early and have lunch at the airport.
At my terminal I surprised that there were so many options - crepes, gyros, deli sandwiches, Philly steak and cheese, hamburgers, and full service dining. I decided on a burger and fries from Fuddruckers. I had one in Montgomery, AL and I really enjoyed it. I ordered my burger with bacon, provolone cheese, mushrooms, and caramelized onions. I topped with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, jalapenos adding a little ketchup and mayo. It was a huge burger with all the topping. It looked and smelled delicious.
I found a seat near a computer charging station and began to throw down. I unwrapped my burger and noticed that the bun was a little dry and falling apart. I first I thought that had too many topping to hold in the burger. But no, it was a old dry bun. I was beginning to get a little turned off. I bit into the burger and tasted all the wonderful toppings. All the toppings worked in great harmony. The problem was that the actual burger was as tasteless as a piece of cardboard. And no, the flavor was not hidden by the toppings. I cut a piece of the burger meat and ate it alone to detect the flavor. There was nothing. No beef flavor. I closed my eyes and took another bite. NOTHING. It was a sad moment. That was not a burger!
I am sad to say I slowly ate all the burger enjoying the taste of at least real meaty bacon with all the toppings. The burger meat continued to non existing. I really expected more from a $12.00 meal. At the French fries were good. I wondered with each bite if I should of selected the Philly steak and cheese. Maybe I could of had some beef flavor.
