Sharing My String Beans

Lunch is always a time to share a delicious meal and information at the office especially when MJ is in the office.  Personally I look forward to each opportunity.  I really enjoy my time with MJ laughing, joking and eating while sharing information about our programs.  Tuesday was one of those days.  Around 2 in the afternoon, everybody was hungry.  MJ came into our shared office just in time with a bag stuffed with chicken, potatoes and mac and cheese.

MJ and I went into the lunch room to watch television and begin our ritual.  Upon our arrival, we met PJ who had boned fried fish, SR who had baked chicken and sweet potatoes, SJ who had a sandwich, and VH who had fried chicken, kale, and home fried potatoes.  I had ran late that morning.  I only had my leftover string beans with cranberries and pecans that I cooked the night before to share.  I felt a little guilty that I only had the string beans.  But, plates were passed and we all shared.

MJ said she was glad we had another vegetable besides VH's kale.  After heating up the string beans, she filled her plate with my string beans.  She took a bite and immediately went to the cabinet and got pepper, garlic and season salt.  She proceeded to season the string beans to her taste.  SJ who was closely observing, asked "Don't you feel mad that MJ is seasoning your string beans".  Both MJ and I looked at her in surprise.  I replied, "Not at all.  MJ likes her food spicy".   I like mine simple and unique".  MJ just laughed and said " We are never sensitive about our food.  I modify hers and she modifies mine.  We enjoy the end results".  SJ smiled saying, "I would of made me mad if someone did that to mine dish".  We both just laughed and continued to eat.

My string beans tasted good to me.  And, my string beans tasted good to MJ with just a little more pepper, garlic, and season salt.  We were both glad I had another vegetable to sharing - my string beans with cranberries and pecans.
