The Ladies Sharing Real Mexican Food After Thrifting #Mexican #Elcarbonerobarandgrill #Margaritas #Fajitas

Ladies Day out is always exciting and heartwarming.  We decided at the last minute to spend some time enjoying our favor pastime, thrifting.  We love the hunt of a good deal for personal and  professional reasons.  We started early planning our location and items to search for on our radar.  Fortunately, we were successful.  But the hard work of thrifting made us hungry and thirsty.

One of the ladies had been talking about magaritas all morning long.  She seemed to just be fiending about the beverage.  So after competitive shopping, we scanned our smart phones for acceptable  restaurants nearby.  We were confident that we would find one since we were in a heavy laden Hispanic area of town.

With very little effort, we discovered several close by.  We took time to consult the reviews through Yelp and reviewed the menu.  We decided one straight down the street - El Carbonero Bar and Grill.  Traffic was heavy and we had to make many left turns but we finally got there.

Upon entering the restaurant, we felt at ease and comfortable.  The place had a good visual appeal.

We were immediately seated and given the traditional chips and salsa.  We were starving and ate two baskets of chips before ordering our margaritas.

The menu was large and well organized but not overwhelming. Although everything looked delicious, we decide on our favorite - fajitas.  Two of us had shrimp. beef, and chicken fajitas, and one had the chicken fajita.  They came sizzling hot accompanied by rice, black beans and all the trimmings for the fajita - guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and flour tortillas.

The portion was large and delicious.  Although I skipped the rice and beans, but after eating two bowls of chips and two margaritas, I was only able to eat half.   I had to ask for a doggy bag.

We all agreed it was a great place to eat.  The food was great with fresh ingredients.  We did have one issue.  We wanted great margaritas when we started our day.  We ended our day with wonderful food and lackluster margaritas.  We drank two and did not even have a buzz.  For $ 10.00 each, we expected better.

However, when it was all said and done, we ladies enjoyed our day and discovered a new restaurant with great bones.  The sad part was as we were leaving and sitting outside talking about our day, we must of left something on in the car and the car battery was dead.  Fortunately we met two amigos going into the restaurant.  They jumped our car and sang the praise of the restaurant we just left.  We drove away laughing at our good fortune of great food and great people.
